For Old Times Sake

Going all the way back to G's 1st birthday, my mom has made bath towels for the kids. I loved the hooded animal towels that we used when G was a baby, but they were pretty flimsy and weren't going to grow with him. Grandma to the rescue - she sewed together a red towel and washcloth, added animal details and we had ourselves a pretty cute (and sturdy!) Clifford towel. Can't picture it? No worries. I will happily share one of my favorite photos of Baby G in his clifford towel.

Each year, she churned out new towels for the Grandkids. As they got older, the "hood" went from being an animal to just being a hood, but she added borders in prints of their favorite characters: Dora, Thomas the Train, etc. Then she transitioned from TV characters to favorite sports or other cute borders.

Alas, we decided it was time to finally throw out the old towels. I had N throw Blue from Blues Clues on overtop his clothes so I could snap a few photos for sentimental purposes. This one was his favorite, and I loved snuggling up with my little blue puppy.

At this point, I was feeling VERY sentimental. I dug out an old Clifford towel (not the original, mind you. It had been replaced at least once due to excessive use!) and begged my oldest child to put it on for a quick picture. Luckily, he was feeling charitable towards his mom and granted me just one photo.

As his reward (or punishment, depending on how you look at it) he may have had to listen to a few stories about Baby G and bath time.
